Grandma Update

Snuggling with a baby first thing in the morning.

Easy.

Learning to change a boy diaper.

Nothing to it.

Slipping little feet into socks you brought all the way from Paris.

C’est tres facile!

Giving someone else a turn.

Not so bad.

Rocking a baby to sleep on the porch.

Piece of cake.

Saying goodbye until next time.

Boy, oh darling little baby boy, is that hard.

The Baby Is Here!

Babies are everywhere, or almost everywhere, and we’ve got one now too.  One happy grandma here!

Mazen Duke Younger-Monson was born at 3:38 in the morning on September 7 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. He weighs eight pounds and is 20.5 inches long!  Here he is:

Everywhere Babies is witten by Susan Meyers with illustrations by Marla Frazee (Houghton Mifflin, 2001).  Babies adore the book because babies like to look at babies! I hope Mazen likes the copy I bought just for him. I’m bringing it with me when I go back to the hospital to visit him tonight. Can’t wait!
